Two people have been arrested in connection to a massive embezzlement scheme involving a former bookkeeper for the Fox Park Homeowners Association.Pete Andrew Deliramich, 52, and Hailey Jacobsen Remmick, 36, face charges of wrongfully taking or disposing of property and conspiracy to commit larceny by bailee.
Pete Deliramich is married to Julie (Jacobsen) Deliramich, who was convicted last week of 10 felony counts of forgery and embezzlement. Remmick is Julie Deliramich’s daughter.
Julie Deliramich, 57, failed to show up for court Friday to hear a jury announce its verdict in her case. As of Thursday morning, she remained at large.
Prosecutors say that in 2003, Julie Deliramich wrote a $6,000 check to her then-boyfriend Pete Deliramich from a Fox Park account. Pete Deliramich went on a fishing trip to Alaska shortly after receiving the check, according to court documents.
In 2002 and 2003, Julie Deliramich wrote five checks to Remmick totaling $8,500 from Fox Park accounts. Prosecutors say there was no legitimate reason for Remmick or Pete Deliramich to have received money from Fox Park.
During last week’s trial, special prosecutor Doug Dumbrill told jurors that Julie Deliramich embezzled more than $398,000 from the homeowners association.
Remmick is charged with four counts of wrongful taking or disposing of property and one count of conspiracy to commit larceny by bailee. Pete Deliramich is charged with one count of wrongful taking or disposing of property and one count of conspiracy to commit larceny by bailee. They face up to 10 years in prison for each count.
Pete Deliramich was arrested Wednesday at his Kristan Avenue home in Fox Park after deputies served a search warrant. A 33-year-old man who was at the home tried to flee out of a window. Stoni Owen Daugherty was arrested on a municipal warrant. Remmick was arrested at her job, Campbell County Sheriff Bill Pownall said.
Remmick and Pete Deliramich are expected to make their initial court appearance in Circuit Court either Thursday or Friday.
