SHERIDAN - A spring snowstorm has delayed the seasonal opening of a highway over the Bighorn Mountains.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation says U.S. Highway 14A was scheduled to open from Burgess Junction to Lovell on Monday. Snowy weather has pushed back the opening until noon Tuesday.

WyDOT crews report blowing snow on the road and drifts more than 3 feet high.

The 22-mile stretch of road usually closes for the winter around Nov. 30. The road usually reopens for the summer by Memorial Day weekend.
