Push the coal ports, mayor says

Posted: Thursday, May 9, 2013 12:00 am | Updated: 3:03 pm, Wed Nov 6, 2013.

Federal officials in Washington might further obstruct the expansion of existing ports in the Northwest which are expected to open up the Asian market for Powder River Basin coal, bringing private investment, jobs and money to the region.

That could happen if the people of this region's "voices aren't heard," according to a recent letter from the Alliance for Northwest Jobs and Exports. It was sent to city administrators and it's hoped that it will reach as many people in Campbell County as possible.
