Environmental groups say Wyodak, other plants pollute waterways

Posted: Wednesday, July 24, 2013 12:00 am | Updated: 4:49 pm, Tue Nov 5, 2013.

Not long after the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency criticized Campbell County’s Wyodak coal power plant for its air pollution controls, environmental groups added another complaint, saying the plant also pollutes local waterways.

A report prepared by several environmental groups and released Tuesday surveyed 386 coal-fired power plants across the country. They included four in Wyoming: Dave Johnston in Converse County, Jim Bridger in Sweetwater County, Naughton Power Plant in Lincoln County and Wyodak. All plants are owned by Pacificorp Energy Generation.
