City water policy may include fines

Posted: Thursday, February 14, 2013 12:00 am | Updated: 10:41 am, Tue Nov 5, 2013.

The city wants to get serious about limiting daily water use to less than 10 million gallons a day through the summer and for the first time has proposed fining people who waste water.

But at this point, it plans to rely only on the fines to deter people rather than any other active enforcement tool, said city Sustainability Coordinator Michael Foote and city spokesman Joe Lunne.
