City’s spring cleanup brought in less garbage

Posted: Thursday, July 18, 2013 12:00 am | Updated: 4:49 pm, Tue Nov 5, 2013.

The city collected 97 fewer tons of debris this year than last year during a new version of a program formally known as Spring Clean Up.

In the past, crews have driven every street in Gillette during three weeks in April. This year, over three Saturdays, the city used Dumpsters, encouraging citizens to bring their own debris to dispose of at central locations. It’s different enough from the old program that the city changed the name to Community Wide Drive and Drop Program.
