Hospital trustee, surgeon is now in Naval Reserve

Dr. Sara Hartsaw has been wanting to join the military for years, but an injured knee has always prevented her from applying.

Hartsaw is a surgeon at High Plains Surgical Associates and chairwoman of the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees. Every year, she has gone to the American College of Surgeons meeting, talked to the Army recruiters who set up booths, and gathered information.
