Christmas was a mixed bag in terms of volunteers giving to agencies

The holiday season brought some ups and some downs to a pair of Gillette's community service organizations.

The Council of Community Services served slightly fewer people with its Christmas Basket program in 2012 when it handed out nine fewer baskets than it did the year before, according to its food pantry supervisor, Eliza Biesheuvel.
