From the May 8, 1908 The Gillette News:

Expressing a desire of being taken to the hospital for the second operation, Wm. Sellers, the young man who has been suffering with pneumonia for the last six or seven weeks, was taken to Omaha leaving this city on No. 44 last Tuesday, Dr. Elizebeth Newcomer accompanying him. It is presumed that the young man would be operated on yesterday, but at the time of going to press no word has been received by his friends here as to the outcome. He was thought to be very low at the time of leaving this city and much doubt was expressed as to his being able to stand the operation.
