From the March 13, 1941 News Record:

Word was received late yesterday afternoon that the body of Nels Pearson, 82-year-old father of Will and Clarence Pearson and Mrs. Joe M. Maycock of Gillette, had been found at Dennison, Kan. The elderly man disappeared mysteriously on the night of Dec.11 having left his home without apparent reason in a snowstorm. A wide search was made by townspeople and CCC boys at that time but the body was not discovered until yesterday. He had made Dennison his home for a number of years.
