THEFT FROM AUTO
SOUTH SHELL GAS STATION: Two tires and rims were stolen from a 1998 Pontiac car while it was parked in a mine parking lot behind the Shell gas station at 10800 S. Highway 59 from Monday night to Tuesday morning. A 36-year-old man had parked it and went to work at about 6:20 p.m. Monday. When he came back at about 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, the rims and tires were gone from the driver’s side, and cinder blocks were in their place. The tires were Nankangs and worth $175 each, Undersheriff Scott Matheny said. Deputies asked the man if he thought it was a practical joke, and he said he didn’t think so. A wheel was recently stolen from a red Dodge Neon and replaced with a cinder block on the 3200 block of Echeta Road between Sunday night and Monday morning. Sgt. Adam Edmondson said the incidents may be related, but the report is still under investigation.
