Whoever finishes first, some sixth-graders in Campbell County will be the winners at the Shoe Shuffle 5K Road Walk Run.

The Razor City Runners are sponsoring the event to raise money to buy shoes for some sixth-graders who compete in the Campbell County School District track meet. Registration for the run/walk begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Campbell County Recreation Center Field House.

The race itself starts at 9 a.m. and walkers can start anytime, either on the 5K race course or on the indoor track.

The cost is $25 each and the fee includes a race shirt.

Competitors have the option of buying a pair of shoes, with the registration at $50.

In 2012, the event raised enough money to provide 55 pairs of shoes.
