Katie Schrater scored a team-high 15 points but the Campbell County sophomore girls' basketball team fell behind early and couldn't recover in a 64-37 loss to Rapid City (S.D.)Stevens last week.
"We came out extremely tentative and could never seemed to regain our composure," coach Braidi Lutgen said. "We had a hard time completing passes. It was either a bad pass or a good pass that wasn't caught. We have to give Stevens credit for their aggressive defense. Hh\owever, I think we could have handled ourselves better."
Schrater added a pair of assists and a pair of steals to her game total while Katie Wilhite scored six points and had five rebounds for the Camels.
The Camels were scheduled for play Laramie at 4 p.m. Friday, but that game has been canceled. Gillette will play Cheyenne South at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Campbell County High School North Campus gym.
