RIVERTON — The Wyoming Department of Transportation has installed eight new webcams throughout the central and northwestern parts of the state.

The cameras are operating at Beaver Rim near the Sweetwater Station rest area; at Kinnear Junction near Riverton; in Wind River Canyon south of Thermopolis; on Meeteetse Rim north of Meeteetse; and on Skull Creek Hill north of Cody.

Other cameras have been installed west of Jeffrey City, at Muddy Gap at the junction of Wyoming 220/Wyoming 789 and U.S. 287, and on Willow Hill north of Rawlins.

Russ Dowdy, WYDOT maintenance foreman in Thermopolis, says the webcams “will help drivers make good choices about winter travel before heading out there this winter.”
