Ambassadors to get taste of West

Posted 7/13/12

JACKSON — Ambassadors from around the world are coming to Wyoming for a national parks tour to learn about the West.

The Jackson Hole Daily reports that 22 ambassadors from five continents are scheduled to arrive Friday. The trip was arranged by the U.S. State Department as part of the “Experience America” program aimed at giving Washington-based diplomats a taste of the rest of the country.

The ambassadors will visit Grand Teton National Park on Saturday and will meet with rangers to learn about search and rescue methods. They’ll visit Yellowstone National Park on Sunday and meet with former president of the World Bank James Wolfensohn on Monday in Jackson. He’s a part-time area resident.
