Funeral services for Arthur Wayne Dewing will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Newcastle with the Rev. Lynn Schleicher officiating.
Burial will follow at Newcastle Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Worden Funeral Directors.
Mr. Dewing, 76, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Weston County Health Services of a probable heart attack.
He was born Nov. 13, 1935, on the family farm south of Gillette, the son of Earl and Goldie Dewing.
He attended school in Campbell County and graduated from high school in 1954.
He helped work his parent’s farm south of Gillette and also was employed by Mills Land and Livestock and the Edwards Ranch as a ranch hand.
He retired in 1991 and moved to Newcastle to be with his parents. Following their passing, he moved to Weston Manor Nursing Home.
He was a member of the Cambria Rams Gen and Mineral Association and was an avid rock collector. He loved to watch movies of all types and owned many. He also enjoyed putting puzzles together and reading books. He made friends at the manor and First Christian Church. He was mild mannered and loved by many.
Survivors include his nieces, Carolyn Shimek of Riverton, Donna Baughman of Rozet, Cynthia Greger of Wright and Brenda Bundtrock of Gillette; nephews, Ken Shimek of Riverton, Roy Earl of Grayson, Ky., David Shimek of Shoshoni, Alvin Ridenour of Rozet, Melvin Ridenour of Carlile; and various other relatives in the Newcastle and Osage areas.
Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters, Gloria Shimek and Helen Ridenour and one nephew, Kevin Ridenour.
Memorial contributions to the Weston Manor Activities Fund would be appreciated by the family.
