PINEDALE, Wyo. — The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is lifting fire restrictions in some areas of western Wyoming beginning at midnight on Friday.
The agency announced that its High Desert District is lifting fire restrictions implemented by the Kemmerer, Pinedale and Rock Springs field offices within Fremont, Lincoln, Sublette and Uinta (YOO'-ihn-tah) counties.
The restrictions have been in place since June, when dry conditions raised the danger of fire. Recent cooler temperatures and increased moisture have helped improve conditions.
The restrictions had prohibited campfires, smoking and running chain saws as well as welders or other torches.
