BLM publishes order on site near Rock Springs

ROCK SPRINGS — The Bureau of Land Management has published a public land order withdrawing nearly five acres of public land north of Rock Springs from having any mining on it for 20 years.
The land holds the BLM’s High Desert District/Rock Springs field offices.
The BLM said Monday the site on the east side of Highway 191 north of Rock Springs will remain open to mineral leasing, since some resources can still be recovered without disturbing the land immediately above them.
