Craig Johnson, the author of several Western-style mystery novels, will be signing books for fans at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Gillette Hastings Entertainment store.
The Ucross-based writer should strike a chord with Wyoming readers because Johnson sets many of his stories at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains. His tough-as-nails Sheriff Walt Longmire also has conducted business in Campbell County in stories like “The Dark Horse.” Rozet is the setting for the latest Johnson book, “By Any Other Name.”
Others may have met Johnson’s sheriff via the A&E television series “Longmire.”
Johnson’s work has earned him a spot on the New York Times bestseller list as well as a Western Writers of America, “Spur Award,” and a publisher’s weekly “Best Book of the Year Award for “The Dark Horse.”
