Funeral services for Bret Richendifer of Moorcroft will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Moorcroft Elementary School gymnasium, with Pastor Donavon Voigt of First Presbyterian Church of Moorcroft officiating.

Interment will follow in the Moorcroft Cemetery, with military honors provided by American Legion Post #42.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gillette Memorial Chapel.

Bret Elwyn Richendifer, 44, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 6, 2012, in Billings, Mont., after a long courageous battle with lung cancer.

Bret was born March 3, 1968, to Kenneth and Linda (Burney) Richendifer in Douglas.

He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1986.

Following graduation, Bret served in the Army for three years.

In 1990, he began his 22-year career with Buckley Powder where he was a branch manager at the time of his death.

On June 13, 1992, Bret married the love of his life, Darlene Kaehne. They were married for 20 years. Their daughters, Amanda and Brittany became the center of their life.

Bret was a true cowboy and rancher, he loved to hunt, fish and rodeo, and follow his daughters in their various activities.

Bret is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughters, Amanda and Brittany of Moorcroft; his mother and stepfather, Linda and Rick Lake of Rozet; father and stepmother, Kenneth and Linda Richendifer of Kinnear; brother, Troy (Laura) Lake of Douglas; sisters, Kari (Jack) Pownall, Tina (Don) Hullinger, Lori (Marvin) Nail, all of Gillette; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Bret was preceded in death by his twin brother, Bart, infant sister, Judy, his grandparents, Elwyn and Jessie Richendifer and Joe and MaryLee Burney.

Darlene, Amanda & Brittany,

We were so sad to hear of Bret's passing. I always thought Bret was one of the 'good guys' and what a pleasure to have known him. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers
