Catherine Susan McGrath, 88, of Highland Lakes, N.J., the mother of a Gillette man, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.
Born to James and Kathryn McKenna in Bronx, N.Y., she had lived in Hudson County before moving to Highland Lakes, N.J., 50 years ago.
Ms. McGrath earned a master’s degree, graduating summa cum laude in public health nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She then worked as the school nurse for the Vernon Township Board of Education for many years before retiring in 1988.
Ms. McGrath is survived by three daughters; two sons, including Kevin McGrath of Gillette; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
