Daniel E. Hammond, 61, of Gillette died at Pioneer Manor of unknown causes Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012.
Memorial services will be at. 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Eagles Lodge.
Mr. Hammond was born June 29, 1951, in Hardin, Mont., to Carl and Rita (O’Brien) Hammond.
He attended various country schools in Campbell County until he completed his education at Campbell County High School. He spent most of his life working on oil rigs and ranching from a very young age. He “broke-out” many rough necks in the oil field. He loved to hunt and fish in the Big Horns and at Keyhole State Park with his friends and family.
Mr. Hammond loved to ride his Harley and feel the wind blowing freely. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, who were dear to him.
Mr. Hammond is survived by his three sons, Daniel Hammond, Michael Hammond and Bryan Hammond, all of Gillette; his brothers, Bill Hammond of Pine Haven and Bruce Hammond of Gillette; sister, Barb Patenaude of Gillette; three granddaughters, three grandsons, and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one nephew, one grandson, and one granddaughter.
