Disabled vets climb mountain in Grand Teton Park

Posted 9/12/12

MOOSE, Wyo. — A group of disabled veterans successfully climbed to the summit of the 13,770-foot Grand peak in Grand Teton National Park on Tuesday.

The climb was made to both commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on America and help in their healing process.

The climbing party consisted of about a dozen people, including three disabled combat vets.

Guide Mike Kirby says the climb symbolizes moving beyond Sept. 11 and the resulting war against terrorists.
