Dog park group to march in Fourth of July parade

Watch for a dog float coming during the July Fourth parade this year.
The Gillette Dog Owners Group will decorate a vehicle and invite others in the community to walk alongside with their dogs in support of a local dog park.
Organizer Catherine Mahoney encourages families and join the march. She expects up to 30 dog walkers in all.
The group will pass out bags of dog treats to passersby ,as well as donation fliers.
There also will be dog bandannas for $5 each.

The group will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Aspen Room at the Lakeway Learning Center. Visitors will get a chance to decorate the parade vehicle with banners and balloons.
A garage sale is from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 14 at 604 South Osborne Ave. The Gillette Dog Owners Group made about $1,000 at the last garage sale in Sleepy Hollow, and members have received more donated goods to sell off.
