Funeral services for Donna Fike, 83, of Gillette will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden, N.D.

Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Fessenden.

Mrs. Fike died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette.

She was born May 15, 1929, to Harold and Elna (Backer) Humes at Montrose, Iowa. She moved with her family at an early age to Courtney, N.D., where she grew up and received her education, graduating from Courtney High School in 1947.

On Oct. 13, 1947, she married Walter Ochsner in Aberdeen, S.D. They lived in Tappen, N.D., until 1953 when they moved to Fessenden. Mr. Ochsner died in 1961.

On Dec. 3, 1962, she married Lee Fike in Fessenden, where they lived. Mr. Fike died Dec. 29, 2010. Soon after, she moved to Gillette, where she had lived since.

Mrs. Fike loved to hunt arrowheads in her younger days. She was an avid reader and collected ceramic shoes for many years. She worked many years at the Fessenden thrift store. She was thrilled to have spent time with her great-grandchildren and always remembered any stories she was told about them. She was a gentle, kind woman.

She is survived by one son, Gary Ochsner of Gillette; one daughter, Beverly Anderson of Jennings, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Diana Lee Brunette of Moorhead, Minn., and Connie Rosborough of Minneapolis; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin “Sonny” Humes of Jamestown, N.D.; and one sister, Atha Lee Marifjeren of Grand Forks, N.D.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; one brother, Clayton Humes; and one stepgrandson.
