Dutch oven contest postponed by fire ban

The second annual Dutch oven cookoff offered through the Outdoor Connections program has been postponed.
The Northeast Wyoming Outdoor Campus contest was to take place Thursday evening in Gillette.
Unfortunately, the fire ban in Campbell County has forced organizers to postpone the free event.
Organizers still hope to offer the contest sometime this fall at McManaemen Park, if conditions improve.
As a result, Jessica Gladson of 4-H will offered the next program scheduled on July 26.
That will be followed by programs on Geo-caching 101 on Aug. 2; a basic firearms, safety and exposure course at the Gillette Gun Club on Aug. 9; composting with worms by Master Gardeners on Aug. 16; fly tie making and casting on Aug. 23; and a nature scavenger hunt on Aug. 30.
