Gillette generates enough electronic waste to make e-recycling a lucrative prospect

One day in May two years ago, ProTech Computing Services received 8,000 pounds of waste — computers, printers, TVs, stereos, cell phones, microwaves. It was collected in just one day as part of city of Gillette’s Stop and Drop program. If not for the event, all of that waste — including the hazardous waste that they emit such as lead, cadmium and mercury — could have ended up in the landfill. More
