Elynor Leath

Elynor Leath, 88, lifetime Buffalo resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at the Johnson County Health Care Center in Buffalo,

Mrs. Leath was born June 26, 1924, in Buffalo to Peter and Celestina Faure. She grew up and went to school in Buffalo and graduated from Johnson County High School in 1942. After high school she attended college in Denver and studied business.

After college she took a job with Remington Arms in Pasqual, Wash. She returned to Buffalo and went into the family sheep business with her uncle, Frank Arrechea, and her mother, Celestina Curuchet.

She was married Aug. 7, 1947, to Robert Leath in Buffalo and they made their home on the Leath Ranch on Dead Horse Creek. They were in the cattle and sheep business and also raised angora goats until 2003 when they retired and moved into Buffalo. In 1977 she went into the upholstery business with her daughter, Celia Bolinger and was still involved until the time of her death.

Mrs. Leath enjoyed bowling, where she was in the 200 club, gardening and playing cards. One of the best times of her youth was herding sheep and fishing on Bear Trap in the Big Horn Mountains. She loved family get-togethers and mountains outings. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years; three daughters, Celia Bolinger, Chele Needens and Joyce Black of Kaycee; one brother, Junior Curuchet of Kaycee; one sister, Mary Louise Curutchet of Kaycee; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one grandson and two sisters.

Donations in Mrs. Leath’s memory may be made to the St. Francis Animal Shelter in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 Adams in Buffalo.
