Emails: coach's tirade drew criticism within UW

LARAMIE, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming's chief fundraiser voiced harsh criticism of coach Dave Christensen in an email to UW Athletics Director Tom Burman.
The next day Burman suspended Christensen for a week and fined him $50,000.
The email from UW Foundation Director Ben Blalock was obtained through a public records request by the Casper Star-Tribune.
Christensen cussed out Air Force coach Troy Calhoun following Wyoming's loss on Oct. 13. Christensen apologized the next day and coached the following week's game at Fresno State.
But a video of his tirade went viral, and Blalock's email followed on Oct. 21, saying the foundation felt foolish in supporting the coach.
Christensen missed one game because of the suspension and returned to coach the Cowboys' win over Colorado State on Saturday.
