CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Sen. Mike Enzi says he's concerned about the natural gas industry in Wyoming after the re-election of Barack Obama and a Democratic majority in the Senate.
Enzi spoke to reporters in a conference call Wednesday. He says he's worried about low natural gas prices but also that Democrats will abruptly end tax breaks that benefit businesses involved in gas development.
He also says he's worried and about the future of F.E. Warren Air Force Base if steep cuts to the military occur under a deficit reduction deal called "sequestration" that's set to take effect Jan. 1. He says the ballistic missiles at the base in southeast Wyoming undoubtedly will be reviewed for possible cuts.
Enzi wasn't up for re-election this year. He's next up for re-election in 2014.
