CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Wyoming lawmakers have rejected a bill that would have allowed some felons to regain their voting rights more quickly.
The Wyoming Senate voted 15-14 on Monday to approve the bill, one vote shy of the tally needed for it to clear the chamber.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reported that the bill would have allowed people convicted of non-violent felonies to vote a year after they complete their sentences. Currently, they have to wait five years.
