GREENVILLE, S.C. — Just a couple days after being named the Great American Conference Player of the Week, Southern Nazerene University senior Ryan Aaron earned NCCAA National Player of the Week honors.
The former Gillette College Pronghorn from Southfield, Mich., notched the season’s first double-double of the year with a season-high 26 points and 12 rebounds in an 86-83 win over No. 16 Mid-America Nazarene in the championship game of the Thanksgiving Nazarene Classic.
He also scored 18 points in the 66-54 win over Trevecca Nazarene and shot 51.9 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point range. Aaron averaged 22 points and 7 rebounds in two games.
For Aaron, who currently leads the Crimson Storm in scoring at 20.8 points per game, It is his first NCCAA honor of his career.
