The Hudson sedan, property of C.J. McKay, which was stolen from his premises here May 9, has been located by officers in the Flathead River Basin, Mont., according to Sheriff Dick Jarvis, who has been in communication with the Montana authorities. According to the Montana officers, the car, found abandoned in a field near Roman, Mont., had been used by bandits who robbed the bank at Roman about two weeks ago. The car was identified by means of the serial number, which was the number of the car stolen in Gillette, and by the engine number. The thieves had attempted to mutilate the engine number, but it was plainly the number of the engine of the McKay sedan, but the first numeral in the number being obscure.

“I was working out in a cleared area, but he must have been looking for some shade,” Howard Malloy said Saturday morning after being bitten by a small rattlesnake while climbing back onto a D-9 bulldozer he was operating north of Gillette. The snake bit him just above his shoe top and went through a thick pair of socks. The doctor at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital felt it was lucky that the socks were thick. A fellow workman had a snake-bite kit available and it was quickly put into use. He lives in Rawhide Village north of Gillette and is a bulldozer operator, having worked on several large construction and dirt-moving projects in the county during the past few years. “We see a lot of rattlesnakes in our work. Killed one a short time ago which had 15 rattles and a button,” Malloy said. The one that hit him had six rattles and a button, which generally accepted as being six years old, going on seven.
