Unknown parties robbed the Frigidaire at the J.O. Bennick residence early on the morning of the Fourth. The ice box stood on the back porch and when discovered in the morning by Mr. Bennick, it resembled Mother Hubbard’s cupboard. Mr. Bennick, in commenting on the theft, stated that he didn’t mind the loss of the food if the thieves were hungry but he did wish they would return the dishes. ... A deal was consummated last week whereby L.M. Rust became the owner of the Thomas Confectionery, which will be known in the future as Rusty’s Confectionery. Candies, popcorn, papers, cigars, cigarettes, etc. will be carried as before.

Buy a bond today and see a free movie! That’s the tempting offer of J.F. Cates Jr., chairman of the local motion picture exhibitor’s campaign for the Fifth War Loan drive and manager of the Fiesta Theatre. For, in salute to the bond-buying, movie-going public, today is “Free Movie Day” at the Fiesta Theatre. All anyone has to do to be admitted to the show free of charge is to present proof at the box office that he or she has purchased a Series E War Savings bond of any denomination either at the theatre or a bona fide issuing gent between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. today.
