The postmasters serving nine of the eastern countries of Wyoming will picnic at the Devils Tower on Aug. 11. Members of the postmasters families and their friends are urged to attend, according to Postmaster Dave Nolan of Upton, who has been active in making the arrangements for the gathering. M.W. Macy postmaster of Moorcroft, will give the address of welcome and bring messages from the national officers. Mr. Macy is serving the Wyoming postmasters as national director, representing the third and fourth class postmasters as an officer of the National Association of Postmasters. Postmaster E.A. Littleton of Gillette has also been active in association affairs. Mrs. G.P. Grenier postmistress of Devils Tower, hostess to the group is being assisted in planning the entertainment by postmistress Bertha Prolander of Sundance.

Plunketts all new stage show with their band and orchestra will be showing in Gillette on Sunday and Monday at 8 p.m. both nights at the American Legion Hall. This show has 10 big acts of vaudeville featuring Captain Fuss Plunkett with his famous television animals, Corky Plunkett trio, acknowledged as America’s greatest trampoline artist; Kennedy “Chubby” Swain king of all comedians; Miss Gloria Plunkettt exotic dancer; Plunkett’s Peaches, beautiful girl dancers; Toby Plunkett, comedy juggling and monologist; the personality girls; the Plunkett five, jive orchestra; Miss Frances Valarde, sensational Spanish web number. In addition to the vaudeville acts there will be a three act comedy play entitled “Holy Sinsisters.” The big show is being sponsored by the Campbell County Post No. 42 who cordially invite everyone big and little to enjoy the fun with Plunkett Family.

Six cases of beak-ins and thefts were reported to the Gillette Police Department during the past weekend. The east door of Taco John’s was broken and entry gained some time during Friday night. The B&E was reported Saturday morning. Sunday it was found that McCann’s Motor company had been entered the previous night. Twenty dollars in change was found to be missing. No other items were believed taken. A truck at the Farmers Co-Op bulk plant was pilfered. Missing were a card and a lantern type electric light. These were taken between Saturday and Monday morning. LeRoy Hibbs reported on Monday that two tires with rims were taken from his vehicle parked in the 200 block of West First Street.
