Normal enrollments in both the grade and high schools are reported from the offices of Superintendents Morgan and O’Brien. At Campbell County High School, a total enrollment of 317 is recorded while the junior hHigh and grades report 297. Last year, at the close of the first week of school, the high school’s enrollment was 330. Of the 317 students reporting for classes this week, 67 are seniors, 73 juniors, 84 sophomores, 63 freshman, and 30 specials. In the grade system, the first and fourth grades have the greatest number of pupils enrolled. With the opening of the model school at the high school on Sept. 12, the congestion in these two grades will be greatly relieved.

Ed Weller, employee of the Vaughn-Ragsdale company at Billings, Mont., has been moved to Gillette and is now a member of the sales staff of the V & R Trading Post, according to Paul True, manager. Weller has been with the V & R at Billings for the past year and a half. Prior to that, he served for a period with the U.S. Navy. He plans to move his wife, LaDonna and 7-month-old daughter, Nancy Anne, from the Montana city this weekend. They are former residents of Spokane, Wash.

Oil prices slipped to their lowest levels in nearly two years last week. But Saturday’s first Energy Awareness Day at Cam-plex struck a surprisingly upbeat chord with members of Gillette’s energy community. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the show offered more than 30 displays from businesses with interests in the energy industry. Most displays said that they were happy with the strong turnout of about 1,500 to 2,000, emphasizing that community exposure and prospects for business contacts attracted them to the show.
