John T. Byan announces the opening of the new grocery department in the Byan Hardware tomorrow morning. The store will be known in the future as the Byan Hardware and Grocery and Carl Shippy will be in charge of the grocery department. Favors of flowers for the ladies and cigars for the men will be distributed on the opening days Friday and Saturday.

Lauritz Melchior of Beverly Hills, Calif., popular opera singer of stage and screen, stopped in Gillette for a few days the first part of the week accompanying officials of the Imperial World Films ,who have been filming wild game on the Wyoming plains. Melchior participated in the one shot antelope shoot at Lander at the beginning of the antelope hunting season. He reportedly has been with a hunting group in the Douglas area, and Tuesday was flown to Gillette by Jim Fulkerson of the Casper Flying service. He tentatively plans to go from here to Canada for some more hunting.

The Campbell County Parks and Recreational Department is offering a Swing and Sway exercise class consisting of 100 percent low impact movements (no jumping or jarring to the bones.) Participants will be taught how to vary the workout intensity and correct body alignment to obtain maximum benefit from each exercise. The class will take place each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. at the Recreation Center.
