From the Oct. 18, 1934 News Record:
Still deliberating the Lawrence Williams case, after being out for 24 hours, the jury of 12 men, after receiving further instructions from Judge Harry P. Ilsley in District Court this morning, resumed consideration of the case. Williams is charged with the theft of wool, it being alleged that he was a member of the “wool ring” said to have stolen quite an amount of wool belonging to Campbell County growers.
From the Oct. 11, 1951 News Record:
The Williston Construction Co., has completed its job of constructing the rural electrification lines in Campbell County and the lines were turned over to the Tri-County Electric Association Inc. on Monday morning, reports John P. Meadows, secretary of the Williston company. The company has just completed 320 miles of line construction in Campbell County, he said, and are at present working at Powell.

Featured this week at the George Amos Memorial Library is “The Elusive Bonanza; the Story of Oil Shale — America’s Richest and Most Neglected Natural Resource,” by Chris Welles. Some 16,000 square miles of shale land in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming are said to contain 5 trillion barrels of oil, yet it isn’t being produced. Why? Mr. Welles first probed the subject for Life magazine — and ended up losing his job over it — and found some complex but very interesting answers involving the reluctance of the big oil companies to jeopardize their present lucrative positions and of the governments’s fear of scandals to rival Teapot Dome.
