Work of installing the new section of switchboard in the local telephone exchange started the first of this week under the direction of Manager M.J. Danielson. Mr. Osterman, a switchboard expert from Sheridan, is here attending to the details of installation.

Crews commenced installing the cable TV lines this week and plans call for the hook up and picture being turned on within the next 90 days, it was announced by Carl Williams of Wyoming Televents Inc., cable company which will bring TV broadcast by microwave from Salt Lake City. Channel selections are to include the three major TV networks plus an educational channel. Negotiations were also under way this week with the Gillette City Council for a five-year lease on city land for a small microwave installation building. The city made an agreement about two years ago giving the company the cable TV franchise for a five-year period with an option to renew agreement.
