From the March 13, 1924 Campbell County Record:
Wm. D. Hooper, president, and A.L. Barnes, secretary and tresaurer of the United Home Building Association, have been arrested on a charge of using the mails to defraud. This action follows the closing of the association books by Byron S. Huie, state bank examiner, who found the association to be insolvent recently. The organizers of the company, Q.T.S. Barners and Mrs. S.A. Crowe, fled Casper headquarters of the association at the first hint of danger. Their arrest is expected by federal authorities.

Campbell County Commissioners have agreed to lease the Westover Hills Golf Course until July 31. By that time, the 18-hole facility could belong to the county, according to the commission chairman. “We are negotiating with Bell Knob and the FDIC,” siad Commissioner Tm Ostlund. “And we are anticipating that we will own it.” Under the agreement signed Tuesday, Bell Knob, the company that owns the golf course, will get a $1 lease payment from the county, good through July 31. After that, the county has the option of leasing the facility for $2,000 a month.
