Golf ball drop to aid Pilots for Christ

A golf ball drop and charity fundraiser is planned at Bell Nob Golf Course on Saturday for the Pilots for Christ-Wyoming organization.
The group is a volunteer group of pilots and aviation enthusiasts who provide air transportation in times of need to families. The pilots and volunteers supply the time and airplane for free, for those requiring help in dire circumstances. Proceeds from the event will help buy fuel and pay for other associated costs for their missions.
The fifth annual ball drop will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Bell Nob. The cost to buy a ball is $10 each, and winners can receive prizes ranging from a four-wheeler to half a processed beef, a weekend camper rental or a Weber barbecue.
The event also will include a golf cart rodeo, Fun on the Go activities and a long-drive contest.
Free hot dogs and coke will be provided for participants.
Advanced ball sales are taking place at Ace Hardware or Expresso Lube in Gillette.
