Funeral services for Isabelle Holzer will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Gillette, Wyo., with the Rev. Reymond Cañete officiating.

Interment will follow at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, N.D. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Walker Funeral Home, Gillette, Wyo.

Isabelle Margaret Holzer, 88, of Gillette, died October 8, 2012, at Close to Home Hospice House.

Isabelle was born July 25, 1924, to Harry and Pearl (Glerup) Scott on the Bullhead Cattle Ranch in Bullhead, S.D. She graduated from McLaughlin High School, McLaughlin, S.D., in 1943 and Black Hills State Normal’s teaching program in 1944.

Isabelle married John Holzer Jr. on Oct. 6, 1945. To this union three children were born.

Isabelle taught in various rural schools including, Fisher, Maple Leaf, Red Top, and Trail City. She and her husband managed West Rooms in Mclaughlin, S.D., and later Isabelle assisted her husband in his gravel construction business. They moved to Gillette in 1978.

Isabelle enjoyed looming rugs, collecting teapots, sewing quilts and baking bread. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Isabelle was a master rug loomer. Her rugs were sought after by many customers who also became her friends. Her customers and friends commented on the superior quality of her looming skills.

Isabelle is survived by daughters: Joan (James) Lueder of Mandan, N.D.; Jean (Bill) Veal of Gillette, Wyo.; son: Joe (Peggy) Holzer of Bismarck, N.D.; sisters: Lucille Enright of Timberlake, S.D.; Genieva Elders of Mobridge, S.D.; Lorraine Gouldin of Timberlake, S.D.; grandsons: Jason Lueder of Mandan, N.D.; Jeff Holzer of Mandan, N.D.; Matt Veal of Gillette, Wyo.; granddaughters: Jeralyn Baysinger of Gillette, Wyo.; Jackie Mercer of Blunt, S.D.; great-grandchildren Anthony Lueder, Chris Lueder, Danni Lueder, Shaun Baysinger Jr., Carson Mercer, Beau Baysinger; numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; brother Charles Scott; and grandson Micheal Lueder.
