A memorial service for John Hinesley-Hobart will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Randy Blakeman officiating.
John Donald Hinesley-Hobart, 21, of Rozet, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 201,2 near Lead, S.D., from injuries received in a vehicle accident.
John Hinesley-Hobart was born May 5, 1991, in Rapid City, S.D., the son of John and Donna (Hershey) Hobart.
Johnny was raised and attended school in Gillette graduating from Campbell County High School. Johnny was an excellent student who always carried high grades. He played football through junior high and was a wrestler though junior high and high school.
Johnny was a natural-born mechanic and in his junior year of high school he went to work for Interstate Power Systems and continued to work for them until his passing.
Everything Johnny did in life, he went into with a positive attitude. He was known for saying “I’m gonna rock this!” He enjoyed skateboarding and snowboarding, as well as fighting in Mixed Martial Arts competitions throughout Wyoming; hanging out with his “brother” Corey.
He loved listening to his music hard and fast, and lived his life at full volume. He especially loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers with his mom and going on mile-long runs with his buddy Slash who was his Great Dane. Johnny was a true leader and had many friends who were drawn to him because of all his special qualities.
Johnny is survived by his parents, John and Donna Hobart; twin sister, Chelsie Hobart; sisters, Vanessa Stetson, Stepanie Connally and Jeri Hinesley, all of Gillette; grandparents, Mary and Joel Brandner of Sturgis, S.D.; as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, John and Jo Ann Hobart, J. Don and Margaret Hobart; great-grandparents, Joseph and Lois Vaughn; and by great-grandfather, Paul Brooks.
