Little change expected in Cheyenne heating bills

Posted 10/26/12

CHEYENNE, Wyo.— The utility serving Cheyenne says natural gas prices should stay the same as last winter or even drop slightly.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (http://preview.tinyurl.com/92nkcd6) Black Hills Energy, the parent of Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power, said Thursday that this winter's prices haven't been determined but so far overall heating bills are expected to be stable.

Officials say ample supplies of natural gas and high national storage levels are factors keeping prices flat.

Black Hills says it bought gas while prices were low this spring and summer and stored it for winter use.

Utility officials made their projections before the Wyoming Public Service Commission.
