Lucille “Cele” Nickel, 87, of Spearfish, S.D., mother of a Gillette man, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday with Monsignor Michael Woster as celebrant.

Vigil rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spearfish.

Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

She was born Dec. 8, 1924, to Matthew and Frances (Berhendt) Cremer in Spencer, S.D.

She received her early education in Farmer, S.D., and graduated from Spencer High School in 1943.

She married Calvin Nickel on June 8, 1943, in Farmer.

Mrs. Nickel is survived by three children including Dean Nickel of Gillette; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and her husband in 1992.

A memorial has been established to benefit St. Joseph’s Building Fund.
