Wyoming Rep. Rep. Cynthia Lummis says she willingly gave up a seat on the powerful House Appropriations Committee because she wanted to return to the Natural Resources Committee.
Lummis said she thinks Natural Resources has greater relevance for Wyoming. She left that committee two years ago to join the powerful Appropriations Committee, which controls federal spending. Lummis says she was not asked to leave Appropriations. But she had a “divergence of philosophy” from other Republicans about spending.
Lummis will also serve for the first time on the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
