Funeral services for Mary Viola Keck will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. George Moore officiating.
Burial will follow in Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home.
Mary V. Keck, 84, of Gillette died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Bee Hive Homes of Colorado in Greeley, Colo., of natural causes.
She was born April 11, 1928, in Gillette the daughter of Tipton and Viola (Essary) Fulkerson.
She graduated from Campbell County High School on a Friday and started to work the next Monday as a bookkeeper for the county agent. She also worked as a bookkeeper in the treasurer’s office until she became a mother.
She married Clete J. Keck on Aug. 21, 1949.
She stayed at home until her children were all in college, then she went back to work as a bookkeeper.
She was a member of the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Board and Beta Sigma Phi. She served 25 years as the superintendent of education and as an elder at the First Presbyterian Church.
She was a wonderful seamstress, sewing her daughters’ and daughters’-in-law wedding dresses and bridesmaids’ dresses. In addition, she was an accomplished musician, playing the piano and clarinet.
Mrs. Keck is survived by her children, Barbara Anderson of Cheyenne, Peggy Keck of Gillette, John Keck of Cheyenne, Nancy D’Albergaria of Greeley, Colo., and Jim Sutherland of Ten Sleep; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three grandchildren and two brothers.
