DENVER — An 18-year-old from New Mexico is the winner of the Professional Bull Riders Touring Division Finale at the National Western Stock Show in Denver.
Joseph McConnel of Bloomfield, N.M. earned 89 points in Wednesday night's final round, riding D&H Cattle Company's bull Western Show. The former high school rodeo champion of New Mexico was also champion at the National High School finals and the International Youth Finals Rodeo.
McConnel finished ahead of three former world champions.
Mike Lee of Decatur, Texas, finished in second place and Kody Lostroh of Longmont, Colo., finished in third place. Guilherme (Gee-air-MAY') Marchi of Leme (Lehm-AY'), Brazil took fourth.
