The new supervisor of the Wyoming Oil and Gas Commission — Grant Black — will take over the position May 1.
After eight-month search, the commission announced that it hired the new supervisor Friday. Black will replace Bob King, interim supervisor of the commission. King was appointed interim supervisor of the commission in June a few days before Tom Doll resigned after comments he made during an Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, about Pavillion residents and their concerns about water quality and hydraulic fracturing in the area.
Black has 30 years of experience as a professional geologist and held the same job in Arkansas from 1999 to 2004.
