Funeral services for Nicole “Nikki” Suzanne Bauer, sister of a Gillette woman, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 2000 Lancer Drive in Rapid City, S.D., with the Rev. Bruce Baum officiating.
Mrs. Bauer, 60, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colo.
She was born April 3, 1952, to Clarence “Babe” and Betty Jean Heinen. She grew up in Lead, S.D., where she graduated from Lead High School. Upon graduation, she attended Westminster Beauty School in Westminster, Colo. Upon completing her studies she returned to Lead where she worked at a beauty salon.
She married Peter “Butch” Bauer on Nov. 17, 1953. They moved to Phoenix for a short time and finally settled in Rapid City where they raised two daughters, Joy and Jill.
Mrs. Bauer worked at the Rapid City Journal, The Guide, and for the past several years as office manager for the Quik Quarter.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years; two daughters; five grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Whites and Jeannette Langdon, both of Gillette; a stepfather; four stepsisters; a stepbrother; and 14 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
